Before a doctor can see a single patient, the Gera team manually reviews two things: their submitted medical-council credentials and their identity. Each result is sealed by Gera Vouch — a cryptographic attestation layer that signs it so it can be independently verified.

We are early, and we publish the honest number rather than an inflated one. Cards are deliberately non-identifying (initial only) to protect clinicians until you book.

A verified telemedicine doctor on GeraClinic is a doctor whose submitted medical-council credentials and identity documents have been manually reviewed and approved by the Gera team, with the result sealed by a signed attestation. On GeraClinic, no doctor appears to patients until they reach the Verified doctor state — and a doctor still in review is shown only internally as Verification pending.
What “verified” actually means
Credential review
A member of the Gera team manually reviews the doctor’s submitted medical-council registration number, issuing authority, qualifications and expiry date, and approves or rejects it — recording who reviewed it and when. (Automated, real-time lookups against each national register are on our roadmap.)
Identity
We confirm the person practising is the person named on the credentials they submitted, using government-issued identity documents.
Credentials & specialty
We review the qualifications and specialty the doctor lists, so a profile labelled "Cardiologist" reflects the credentials we reviewed — not a purely self-declared title.
Signed, verifiable result
Each verified doctor gets a Gera Vouch attestation — an Ed25519-signed receipt of their verified facts that anyone can check against Gera’s published public key, without trusting GeraClinic.

Backed by Gera Vouch — a cryptographic attestation layer
Most platforms ask you to take “verified” on trust. GeraClinic doesn’t. Each verified doctor’s result is recorded by Gera Vouch, Gera’s own attestation layer, which produces an Ed25519-signed receipt of the doctor’s verified facts. The signature can be verified independently against Gera’s public key (GET /doctors/attestation/public-key) — so “verified” is a statement that can be proven, not just asserted.
Honest scope: the receipt attests that, as of issuance, Gera’s records show this doctor’s submitted credentials and identity were reviewed and approved. It is a proof-of-attestation record — not an indemnity, insurance, or a clinical guarantee.
What a verified badge is not
We only ever claim what we actually check. To be clear about the limits:
- We do not guarantee a clinical outcome or diagnosis.
- A verified badge is not an endorsement of any individual treatment decision.
- Our review today is of submitted documents — it is not yet an automated, real-time check against the national register, and it is not continuous monitoring of a doctor’s licence status.
- We review credentials and identity — we are not a malpractice insurer or a regulator.
- Patient reviews reflect individual experiences, not a clinical quality rating.
